About the Position

This position is required to undertake transport planning and develop proposals for future transport infrastructure with a focus on walking and cycling infrastructure.

Key Deliverables of the position:

  • Assist the Coordinator Sustainable Transport Program and Principal Program Manager (Active Transport) with managing and delivering the Active Transport Infrastructure program
  • Lead the delivery of feasibility studies for transport infrastructure including pedestrian/cycle bridges
  • Develop project specification briefs for design and construction of transport infrastructure projects with a focus on walking and cycling proposals
  • Undertake site inspections to determine the scope of proposals and subsequent investigations required to develop concept briefs and presentations for discussion with stakeholders.
  • Prepare procurement documentation and request for service documentation for planning reports, cost estimates, concept plans, visualisations and data collection.
  • Engage and manage consultancies to undertake business cases, planning studies, concept plans and cost estimates.
  • Investigate and respond to councillor and customer requests for active transport infrastructure.
  • Identify external funding opportunities and develop funding submissions and business cases for the planning, design and construction of transport infrastructure with a focus on walking and cycling infrastructure.
  • Prepare high quality written material suitable for senior management, elected representatives and key stakeholders.

The Selection Process
