City of Darwin is seeking an experienced and people focused executive leader to take on the role of Executive Manager Operations.

Reporting to the General Manager Community and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, this is a significant leadership opportunity responsible for highly visible frontline services that directly impact the liveability, presentation and functionality of Australia's northernmost capital city.

Leading a workforce of approximately 150 employees and an operational budget of around $40 million, the portfolio spans parks and open spaces, fleet and equipment, civil infrastructure, building services and city maintenance.

This is a role for a visible and collaborative leader who can continue the positive momentum already established across the Operations function while strengthening workforce capability, accountability, safety and service performance.

Key priorities include:

•         Leading a large and diverse frontline workforce across multiple operational disciplines
•         Strengthening culture, accountability and operational performance
•         Driving business improvement and organisational change initiatives
•         Supporting the implementation and workforce adoption of new customer relationship management systems
•         Building strong relationships across City of Darwin, the community and key stakeholders

You will bring senior leadership experience within local government or a similarly complex operational environment, together with a demonstrated ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams, drive performance improvement and foster a positive and accountable workplace culture. Most importantly, you will be a practical, approachable and resilient leader who enjoys working alongside teams and delivering services that make a real difference to the community.
